I go every year, great fishing tipically. Was just wondering if the fish have started to school up yet and the water temps.

State Line to Casino is still hottest, Cannnonaball River area is starting as is Hazelton, Stay South and you should have a great time we use jointed rapalas and Salmos for trolling DO NOT forget teh jig box pull up drift back best time of year as far as I am concerned. We are currently in 12-16 feet for best trolling depths and 3-12 feet with jigs, sandbars and eddys

    Good Luck

Just got back today from Bismarck. Water is up 2-3 ft and moving fast. Talked to my friends who said has been slow in area but did catch 10 nice fish on Sunday. Trolling cranks worked best.

Thanks alot guys, I will give you a report when I return. We usually use lead with small salmo and sometimes the big # 8 salmos work better–bigger fish.

First day of fishing was phenomenal. Walleye are biting, jigging and lindy’s worked best. Started out a Fort Rice early and picked up some 20 inchers right away then it slowed down went south to the cannonball and we used every minnow we had 3 scoops worth. Also caught crappie, pike, silver bass. Tomorrow we are going to try in town by Bismarck.
