NBC, CBS, ABC or Fox.

Of the four networks which evening news broadcast do you watch? Do you have a favorite?

I don’t watch the news for the slant of the station, I’m a shallow enough person to admit I watch strictly because of the anchors. I grew up with Cronkite, then Rather, Brokaw. I watched CBS and O’Donnell until recently. I’ve now wandered over to ABC with David Muir. I like his voice and delivery.

I’m guessing many here don’t watch the national news on the TV but opt for a cable show or streaming something or watching nothing at all.

I watch a little bit of everything knowing full well 70% of what I see is BS or false, and then form my own opinion about it. Another thing I’ve found out by being in EMS and Fire and being on large scale incidents that the news has covered, is that they get many details incorrect even when they are trying to report factual things.

They all have their agendas no matter what side they fall under.

Does the anchor influence the choice in which one you watch the most?

Nope. They are just puppets. I read more news online than anything. I feel like I can read through the BS in a written article for some reason.

    I watch the National Desk.
Fox /CNN/ABS/CBS – they are all the same in terms of slant.
I do watch a little of Fox and CNN to see what each side is showing and compare that to what I am seeing on the National desk.
Honestly – in my HUMBLE opinion – I think the National Desk does a decent job covering things the current administration is failing in where the CNN/ABC’s of the world don’t even acknowledge it.
MY Perception – not saying right or wrong- my perception.
FOX will overstate the right too so there is that.
Local news – TO ME – is too much entertainment value “oh my god, it’s gonna get to ZERO degrees or THe local PRIDE parade is the heart of this state or crime coverage is completely biased to not giving ANY details – AGAIN – my opinion

We skip the news, we skip the cable and we pretty much skip TV all in general. We stay out in the yard playing ball, or fishing the Croix. Much healthier that way. I guess I’m never caught up on recent drama in this world, But I enjoy it that way.

Same with our family. Work all day then yardwork at home followed by a little batting practice or shooting a few arrows with the boys. If there’s time later I’ll throw some bull riding or hunting/fishing videos on Youtube on the smart TV. I stay plenty informed by scrolling a few things as well as seeing what’s trending. Seems all the news/current events do is make people outraged anyway.

I watch Fox9 news at night and in the morning just because they seem like normal people. I watch mostly for the weather and local stuff if its the political or rainbow crap I just dont pay attention for a bit.

The major network nightly news shows only have 30 minutes to show about as much news headlines as possible. Of this 30 minutes, is about 7 minutes (not sure if they count the early sign off as part of the 7 minutes) of commercials and 2-3 minutes of human interest stories. So you are only getting 20 minutes (if that) or so of actual news. They really do not have much time for political bias and typically have spokesman from both side with quick opinions. You can find bias rankings on the internet. Most of the sources rank the national media news as center bias. The National Desk was ranked center/right in 1 ranking I saw. I would not watch a news network that intentionally lies to its viewers in order to try and maintain their audience.

The only news I watch is our local news out of Eau Claire… Unless there is a big story on the national level, that doesn’t include politics… I hated how it appeared that major news media had become an arm of political parties, and have avoided them ever since…

I can’t stand any of the National news, they are all something like them pi$$ing on you and telling you it’s raining. Breaking Points with Krystal and Saager does pretty well of giving you the facts along with their acknowledged biased opinions.

There’s not really much for news or television in our house. College Football is the biggest thing we watch, followed by the NFL and NCAA Basketball.

Living on land in the country, there’s always something that needs to be done.

That’s enough internet for today. Off to work on building mom and the girls’ chicken coop and spraying some culverts. After that, our oldest (3) wants to go pick another ice cream pail of blackcaps.

Oh Bucky, you do seem to find plenty of time to post on here still(I do like your input and perspective, though).

I think most local and especially national news stations now are pretty biased, and in mostly one direction. As to which…

Being constantly reminded of what the very small percentage of crappy people do in the world, no thanks.
