Am I missing something, doesn’t look like Navionics offers software to view your charts and plan routes on your PC… If I’m correct that is brutal! I have an old Garmin 276c, that I could view the charts and set way points etc like 10 yrs ago.

I didn’t have a choice but buy the Navionics they are the only ones that had charts for the lake we wanted.

Guess when we get our new boat..it will be garmin for us!

Navionics only works on your pc if you have a active card. You can view it on the pc but you can’t edit or add waypoints. If you have an old Navionics card you can upgrade for $99.00 per year and get sonar charts live to do your own mapping if your locator is new enough and can update it.

I just bought the card this week. What software do you use to open the maps?

Log in to Navionics.com You need to register the card. Then you need to install the installer on your computer. It’s very easy to do. You get free updates for 1 year. You also have to designate which locator your using it in. It will only work with one at a time. Once your card is activated you can upload maps and use community edits, do a lot of other things. Go to YouTube lots of good videos on it. Good luck

    Thanks CF,

I did this the other night to update the maps but was hoping there was software more geared to planning. Oh well )

Even this software is pretty buggy, at least on Windows 10. It downloads a bunch of update almost 2gigs of data… runs for ever, then completes with the “Your Maps are now up to date blah blah” message.

Close the app reopen it..oh.. did it update or didn’t it..still says you have 2 gigs of updates waiting..

On a positive note the maps look good..

Slow down, sounds like your updating every lake in North America. Zoom to the lakes you want to use and update them. Watch the video on YouTube on updating maps.

My 798ci hd is so slow to draw, can’t wait to upgrade!
