I was wondering if you need a Internet connection to run navionics?

I was thinking of downloading the app on my tablet to take with me in the boat,
Just to have a bigger screen than my helix 5. Has anyone do this?

Should work as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection but that may be difficult out on the water away from town

If you have either a wi fi connection or built in gps. You can Download a specific area to your tablet when you have a wifi connection then use a built in gps to track your location

    Follow this link http://navionics.force.com/kb/pkb_Home?q=mobile%20gps&l=en_US

is it not available for android?
I tried downloading it to my tablet with no success unless I’m doing something wrong?

Once you have the program installed on your tablet/phone you don’t need any service to use it in your boat. GPS service runs nomatter what and that is all that’s needed. I use the navionics on my phone while ice fishing in areas where there is zero cell service. I hope this helps.
