Happy National Coffee Day! Coffee fun fact: Coffee is actually a fruit! Coffee beans as we know them are actually the pits of a cherry-like berry that are grown on bushes. Even though coffee is actually a seed, it’s called a bean because of its resemblance to actual beans.

What is your favorite coffee? I prefer Folgers Black Silk roast. It’s dark enough for Billy’s preference, but doesn’t taste bitter.

Mt favorite is with lots of real cream and sugar. Or dump a packet of hot chocolate mix in with the cup of coffee.

Yes, my wife says I don’t drink coffee,,,,,,,, I drink coffee flavored sugar water.

The FW and I have become addicted to a San Francisco blend by Cage Altura. A medium dark roast that’s low acidity…we buy it buy it whole bean by the 4 lb bag at our local co-op. 2 pots a day can’t be wrong! coffee

I like all the Folgers. The ladies prefer the French roast.

I find it odd that there is a coffee day when it is something most people drink everyday, therefore it does not need a “day”.

It would be like National Wake Up Day.

    Coffee…….The great communicator!

    LV it!

Black! No groceries for me. When I travel its hard to beat the offerings at Holiday Gas stations……..if you don’t think so just watch the number of people that come in to their stations and leave with a cup of coffee….WOW!

Mocha, I’m a big fan of Holiday’s coffee and cappuccinos. Especially the English Toffee cappuccinos! I know a few “coffee snobs” who scoff at the idea of drinking anything from Holiday when there are Starbucks and Caribou around… I say to each their own! )

Never drink it, or really any hot liquids. It can smell good though.

Caribou Mohogany roast or reindeer blend roast. I buy in bulk at Sam’s Club, way cheaper than getting it from normal grocery store or from a caribou store.

Coffee is like pizza that you need everyday. There is no “bad” pizza, just better more expensive versions. And life is too short to eat party pizza’s or holiday coffee on a daily basis. The best, imo, is Peet’s French Roast, freshly ground, and made in a French press, but again I will drink it all. Hot or Cold, plain or with cream and sugar. And I’ll take Caribou over Starbucks errryday.

Peet’s is great stuff. I prefer a rich Columbian bean that is mildly roasted (half to full city roasts) and ground just before brewing. The problem is that it is tough to find. My local Dunn brothers used to do a good job but the store changed hands and they started roasting it darker.

Grinding just before brewing makes a big difference. We (wife and I) could tell the difference between grinding the night before and setting up the coffee maker versus grinding that morning.

Also a good brewing machine helps. Love the MoccaMaster from Technivorm. The last coffee maker you will ever need to buy.
