Nanofil is being phased out. If you like it then it might be a time to stock up.

A line that is far better in knot strength and abrasion resistance is Fireline Ultra 8. It is one of the best casting superlines I’ve used. It doesn’t cast as far as Nanofil, but it’s not too far behind.

I believe that’s the line that won the “Best Fishing Line” award at the 2017 ICAST. Have heard good things -wish there were more color options though. Will probably try on one of the setups this springs.

Has anyone tried the PP super slick V2? That’s another I’m interested in trying.

Anyone tried the fire line ultra 8 ice fishing yet? Does it shed water a little better than 832?

I’m a fireline guy. Picked up some of the Ultra 8 awhile back and hope to give that a try for vertical jigging. Now just have to wait for the river to go down. And for the snow and thunder to stop. Maybe June. Sigh.

I actually was talked into this to spool on one of my musky reels. Of course the only color they had was sky blue in 80lb but i will make sure to let everyone know what my thoughts are on it when i finally get to throw some big lures come June. It did get line of the year so im hopeful.

I actually liked this so much on my musky reel that i switched one of my bass reels to it now too that needed line. So far i like it a lot. A little Spendy but i believe it has been worth it.

I used PP Super Slick V2 for a week up in Canada in June. I had the 8 lb hi-vis aqua green on one reel and it performed very well. It casts well and help up as well as other braids. Not a single wind knot all week. It’s much better than the previous version of Super Slick. I’m a fan and will put it on other reels when line needs changing.
