I don’t keep a boat long enough to name it.

Iowaboy1 has a unique name for his.

HA! My older brother stoops, bows, and worships the almighty Lund, it was bad enough he about drove me bonkers over it.
To me, a fish doesnt give two cents what a boat cost, if it floats, I can catch fish out of it.
So to rub it in when our first grandson came into the world I bought a ’95 Tracker Pro 17 deep vee and sold our old Alumacraft Jon, I needed storage to keep sharp pointy things out of a babys reach.

I came up with the name Nautalund, five years later after a mishap on the interstate I bought another boat, a ’96 Starcraft superfisherman 170 and of course, its name is Nautalund II.

I saw a boat with, Shake, Rattle, and Troll on the back, I dont remember the brand of boat but it did have an old Merc tower of power on it.

Pre smartphone and camera I saw a boat with “My Dixie Wreck” across the transom.

Years ago I found a guy who had just bought a printer and wanted to get into wrapping boats. I had an old Tuffy 18′ at the time. Anyway he took a digital picture of a Red & White Daredevil with a line tied on. He printed that out and we wrapped that old Tuffy. Black scale background with the Daredevil running down the side. Didn’t look 1/2 bad for his first job. As I recall it cost me like $350 or something cheap like that.

I’ll try and load a picture.

It’s been years since I’ve been to Ozarks but I agree, Grouse. I think I counted a half dozen “poontoons.” Real original.

After seeing the 11th boat that day with the ultra-original name “Wet Dream”, I had to lie down.

I believe in one trip I saw at least 3 boats with each of the lamest names you see repeated everywhere, and the worst offenders were repeated so often that I’d have needed a spreadsheet to keep track of it.

I don’t recall seeing a single boat name down there that was original.

For a Boston whaler “Eddie Van Whaler”

    For a scuba boat “Scubastank”.

For one of those barges that puts docks in “Dokken”.

    Boat names essentially write themselves

I have had the SCRATCHER and now upgraded to the SCRATCHER II one the side of my boat I think the name has been on p-4 for about 10 years or more, The name fits, so maybe a few know why I am the scratcher?

I bought a fat-boy cooler, it came with a nice sticker, slapped it on the back on the boat.

    “Fatboy” it is.

My (used) fishing boat came with a bumper sticker on the back transom. I liked the sticker so it stayed on. Not sure if I consider it my boat name though. I guess it could be. The sticker says.

“Rippin Lips” with a picture of an aggressive toothed walleye

Good buddy of mine has this on his boat minus the walleye picture. It was on from the original owner but he never removed it.

Lore or superstition says it’s bad luck to rename a boat….if you’re a believer in that type of thing )

My cousin named his warrior, and I made him some vinyl which is plastered across the transom facing traffic while he’s driving. Gets a lot of good laughs and pointing and waving on the way up north.

    I don’t have a pic right now but it’s

Best one I’ve seen was on an older boat on mille lacs. It said “send help” but the letters were upside down.

The 14′ beat to hell john boat growing up was called the Puddle Jumper, still makes me laugh.
