    ……that got released. 20.5×16.5

The fight was the largest battle of my life. 2 jumps, chasing it deep with TM, back to shallow, then deep again. I didn’t believe what I was seeing when it jumped, only boatside I saw a special fish. Never had such a wide fish ever in my life, she was absolutely beautiful. Made my week and she swam away great after a quick breather. Not sure what she might have weighed, regular charts don’t do any justice, 6.5-7#?

Way cool dude…did you get that on Girl lake? I remember many years ago when I was younger and dumber, when I got that rare wallhanger I’d wake up the next morning with a hangover. I’ve grown out of that now as I guess you are too. Did you have your kids onboard for this moment?

Congrats! That’s a great fish. I have a 20.5 in. mounted from GB that I caught 6 years ago in late fall that went 5.6 lbs.

Funny how some of us looking at a pict of us holding a fish “doesn’t do it justice”. I can tell you as a 3rd party, that second picture is very nice and the fish looks impressive in it.

    Nice job!

You could’ve got some really nice smallie steaks out of that.

I hear ya Pug. First time I saw it close I thought it was a state record. Didn’t know what that record was exactly but so used to river smallies the width had me all jacked up. Just the fight was epic, could’ve wrote a good long paragraph just on that alone, never forget that battle.

That’s one stellar fish Nick. And this is August, imagine if she was full of spawn in the spring. Remember that state record fish from South Dakota that was posted back in May? That was only 19 inches, but I’m sure bursting with eggs. Yours last May one can only imagine how much it weighed!!

    Great job!

Very nice fish, I caught a 21.5 on girl lake, I wasn’t looking for smallies at the time, it hit a buzz bait and was a fight to remember, mine is coming back from the taxidermist in about a week here!

I just had a 21.5 replica done and love it… My wife caught the fish on ML. Scott Miller did the mount and I found the piece of cedar on the river and attached the base.

I’m still so stoked about that fish. Monster as far as I’ve seen. Good to know there’s plenty of other beasts out there to catch woot
