Had a great time with the IDO crew today. Had no idea there was so much that goes into making a 30 minute show. One thing we noticed was the guys are very nice and easy going. Definitely a class act! It was nice to get you guys over here and get on so many Fish O’s. Can’t wait to see the show next Sunday.

If anyone has questions about Erie, let me know. We usually have boots on the ice any given day during the winter.

A big Thank you to James and the guys for working so hard and being a class act.
I never realized James is so tall!

Randy, we were not any where near the reefs. We were way west down by the intake.

Jeff – great to meet you in person, and really glad you shared the bite with us. It was a whole new experience for me. Similar in many ways to much of the fishing we do all over, but plenty different in others.

We had 10″es plus across the board, anywhere from 4-6 miles out of Magee Marsh Wildlife area, but stacked ice around the ice-heaves made for some tough drilling/fishing. Fish seemed to be near them, but too close and you were just making things tough on yourself.

Great to meet you too revpilot, I sure wish we would’ve had more time to chat. Everyone was really nice, and we were greeted by everyone from fishermen to gas station attendants. Hoping to make the trek out again soon. 10.5 hours from my door never seemed so short. Good highways the whole way, and if you can negotiate Chi-town during the right time of day it’s smooth sailing.

Have a big fish photo to share soon, just trying to get my life back in order from being gone.

    Stay tuned….!!!

It is an amazing fishery. Good to see you could make it over for another banner icefishing season. You guys have the best show out there. This was a friend of mine last year and the fish his group caught.

Probably have at least another 2-3 weeks of fishing yet out there. With the little snow cover we have it is going to be making good ice just about everywhere.

IDO Crew, now what TUCR rod would you recommend for Lake Erie? I won a Bullwhip at the St. Paul ice show and it is being shipped this week. Thinking I want to spring for a all around TUCR for Walleye now. Suggestions?

Don’t take that bullwhip! Lol. I use a Power Precision in 32″ and it works good. I’m really wanting the new prototype that James was using because I want more backbone but I don’t think I can get John to send me one!

    John?? Lol

I am diabetic and once my hands get cold it takes forever to get them warm, so I don’t hole jump to often. Wondering if 32″ is too long but I like the idea of the longer rod/backbone potential. Was using a 28″ Med on Erie last weekend and feel I need just a little more back bone with some more sensitivity in the tip/rod.
