Picked up a boat last week from Skeeter boat center in Chippewa falls.

It’s a 1998 Marathon 1705….I know what you’re thinking. What the heck is a marathon? Never heard of it and apparently neither has google. Well After about 15 emails with Alumacraft they were able to confirm my suspicion. The boat is a 1998 Alumacraft Tournament Pro 170CS. Marathon is apparently a Canadian marketed dealership special that Alumacraft did for awhile. Essentially it is an Alumacraft with different stickers.

So the boat is a 1998 and has a 98 Mercury 90 ELPTO, 80# Terrova. Boat is in very nice condition and I think I got a pretty solid deal on it.

I feel I should remark a bit on how nice of a transaction it was though skeeter. The boat was originally at their Ramsey store and they brought it to Chippewa Falls so that I could look at it. There was no agreement whatsoever that I would be buying it yet. Jason my salesman was very easy to work with. Very laid back and answered all the questions that I had. Never felt any sort of pressure and had a more than fair counteroffer to my original offer. They were also very flexible around my pickup availability and even offered to wrap the boat and let me pick it up in spring.

SBC seems awesome…. if I ever look to spend the bug bucks I’ll be in to kick tires a year in advance at least!
