What a season! I thought I’d share with my IDO friends. My boys and myself had an amazing season. Ice is still thick enough to drive on and I can’t wait until next yrs 4th anual “boars week” to kick off the season. Just to warn you this video is long (9 1/2 mins). I’m kind of proud of my boys if you can’t tell. And to all you guys trying to sell the idea of a fish house to mamma, show them the smiles on my family. The “Blue Basstard” was the best purchase I have ever made. Hands down.
Feel free to post pictures/video of your ice season on this thread if you want! waytogo

    Amen to that Drifter.
That’s what ice fishing is all about! Family, fun, fishing.
Good to meet you and Mrs. MNDrifter at the GTG.

    However – I have a few comments/questions
    1) What up with the Ick emoji with an eelpout?
    2) I’m pretty sure that was a 25.75 walleye at the GTG.
    3) Did you leave any paint on the bridge at the Red Door?
    4) Why do I have a Busch lite beer in my fridge?
    5) Are you sure you had enough bait at Zippel?

That was a great video my friend!

Awesome video Drifter!! Gets me all giddy seeing kids smile like that! True happiness right there! With hockey going on all the time, we don’t get to ice fish much with the kids but was able to get them out a couple of days.

Wow, you guys hit it hard this year. I know I’m not the only one who wished I could get out that often. It was a solid year for ice fishing this year with the winter we had and the lakes were just swamped with people. I also noticed little ice fishing gear left over at the stores like there often is at the end of the season. Shelters were sold out well in advance of the end of the season. Great video that you guys can watch for years to come to relive the memories.

Thanks guys, I’m hoping that if I take them fishing now, they will take me later in life. Lol. It was an awsome season, and I am blessed to have a wife that tolerates it for a couple months. I’ll now spend the rest of the year a slave to work, domestic chores, yard work, children’s activities/sports, etc. but I’ll be dreaming about Ice up. As far as guys following me around next year, I feel bad for anybody who would have to rely on me to catch fish. Hopefully you come say hi and introduce yourself, maybe
we can work together to get on some fish, or have a beer during the slow times. toast

    1. Eelpout are gross. I wish they wouldn’t wrap around your arm and be all slimy.

    2. I thought it went 26 1/8”, but nobody likes a bragger. And actually there was never a really good photo produced of the “alleged” 26” that came out of house 9. rotflol

    3. No paint was left at Red doors bridges, almost ripped off the awning though. What’s up with those bridges anyways, they are 9’ wide. And most wheel houses are 8’4 – 8’6”. And as steep as they are, when you climb up them you can’t see over the hood of your pickup to see where your at in the front. With those rails on the side there’s not a lot of room for error.

    4. You better ask that good looking wife of yours why there’s another mans beer in the refrigerator. whistling

    5. With as slow as it was we had plenty of bait. Hopefully my wife doesn’t go opening up the garage beer refrigerator freezer. It’s filled with smelly surprises. lol

    Thanks again friends!
