I have a 60 hp 2-stroke Evinrude on my boat. I have not run the motor since 2020. I fish a lake with a 10 hp limit and so have been using my kicker motor. The boat is garage kept when not in use. Do I need to take my boat to another lake and run my big motor? Thanks.

Fire it up and run it in a barrel or with muffs
I also have a 2 stroke e rude. She always purrs like a kitten. After sitting for 4 months it popped off in a split second and idled like a champ.

They like to be run & opened up, some live on lakes with MPH limits and they have big motors (why??) they need to get to another lake sometimes and run that thing hard every now and then. Muff thing works too.

Last year we took my buddies boat with older Evinrude to a mechanic we knew because it would barely start and NOT idle. The old Evinrude guru put on the muffs, took off the cover then had us start it while he was back there. Got it running and he revved the ever loving shiznit out of it, then it ran prefect. No charge and we all laughed.
