    Which motor are you running?

Could it be warming up at to high of RPM’s? Mine seems to do this if its cold and you throttle up to high while the engine is warming up.

thanks socoeye, just got back from lake. got yam. read at offshore with no faults. I must have loosened some wire under dash when I was messing around with electronics. cannot find any wire issues. warning bell on all the time but gauges are all reading fine and normal. does anyone no if it could be a trim switch indicator?? Socoeye I cannot get into GLM Denver into the 3rd of june I will go deaf by then. counts 45 eyes, 12 crappies, 25 stripers and a dozen bass. good trip for loosing 1 1/2 days to wind 30mph sustained up to 40 gust had the HB in good safe spot. trying to head back down this weekend I did not get to hit the crappies as hard as I would of liked. not to cross anyone on this site BUT personally I would catch a hard fighting striper/smallmouth than a fish that you drag in from the bottom. IMO and just saying, I had a MN eye fisherman in my boat so to the bottom we went some on cranks Socoeye call me when you get a chance and let me know how the tourn went

I will. Sounds like a great trip to Powell!
Is there a way to disconnect the “speaker” for the time being? I know this increases risk of not knowing a real problem exists but its already chirping anyway so its not like you’d know if there was a problem.

great trip indeed, heading back down this weekend. I will have to look at wiring more in depth and I did think about disconnecting bell I have been cycling thru all modes to monitor gauges anyway since bell is on. I am a little sensitive on making sure nothing is wrong. just talked to BF exec services, last sat winds 50mph as was yesterday, glad I got off before it blew yesterday

WYO 307 how was your trip call me when you get back

Water or bad fuel can set off the alarm. I would encourage you to get a quick diagnostic.

With a constant horn my first guess would be water in the fuel.

If you take the cowling off the motor, in the very front of the motor there is a clear plastic cup. on the bottom of that cup there is a wire coming out of it. That wire is about 6″ and has a blue push in connector. Try unplugging that wire and see if the alarm still goes off.

Also, is the alarm on only while the engine is running or will it stay on with just the key on?

thanks for all of the suggestions. the water sensor is the first thing that I tried and it did not shut off the warning horn. the horn is on all of the time when key is on only and when the motor is running. again all modes seemed to be functioning fine when I cycle thru them water pres. is low at idle and moves up upon increase rpm, oil pressure is good temp is at 3 bars when boat is under way and pisses fine . I have not gotten under helm since I got back to see if there is a wire that I loosened / unplugged when I was messing with the harness during sonar installation. would it be a ground or power line if all mode functions are working on the Yamaha smart gauges???? again I did have it hooked up to a computer at LP Offshore and no faults showed

If no codes show up its hard to say. My first guess would be a sensor of some kind. Sounds like it will come down to going through the wiring from the control box back to the engine.

One other quick thing to try is to see if it will turn over/start with the throttle handle in gear and not neutral.

Thanks I will try that when it quits storming here in western CO. Would that maybe be a TPS gone bad? My Yamaha service center said that could be it but cannot look at it until June 3. If I had the time I would take a road trip to you guys do some fishing and have you look at it thanks again for the help

Could be TPS sensor but could also be the neutral safety switch.

A constant horn on that engine if there is a problem will be set off by the kill switch being disconnected but if the kill switch is working the engine obviously shouldn’t run. The other two are low oil pressure or overheat. If you don’t have any oil pressure or overheat counts, at least resent ones, then more than likely it is a boat wiring issue. Water in fuel should give you an intermittent horn and it will stop when the engine is in gear.

I have seen a few horns in the past just fail so they go off all the time but they are normally not as loud as they would normally be when set off by engine. But I have never seen it on that particular engine system.

Do you get a horn just with the key on or does it have to be running? And what color light is on on the control box and is it steady or flashing?

light is blue, solid and not flashing, horn is when key is on and continues when motor running . looks like break in rain today so I will try starting when in gear, also try shut off switch as previously suggested will update. this whole thing is probably due to operator, me, error when moving wires around when I was setting up new electronics, the only thing that has been done to this system between working flawlessly and a warning horn. I probably have myself to blame. now trying to see what wire I disconnected is the issue
