Hey im looking to buy one of these boats im going to put a 175 on either or i have fished out of a wx1850 and id like it but i would go with the 1910 for storage. i salmon fish in lake ontario and could really use the extra cockpit space of the mx1825 except im really concerned about how the mx1825 would handle big waves (4-6ft) at trolling speeds 2-3mph and a traveling speeds i generally cruise at 20mph any info would be appreciated
    Thank you

As much as I like my MX 1825, bigger is better in wind and waves.
So I would say for your situation get either a WX 1910 with a 200, or for about the same price a MX 2025 with a 200.

In your particular case, I think I would go with the WX1910. The added length and a bit narrower beam should help in bigger water. You will probably also appreciate the added cockpit depth.

Fishablity of the MX for trolling is UNREAL. It is so open and set up perfect for trolling.
Down side is that you would be taking alot of waves over the bow if your trolling 3mph into 6 footers. (most boats low sided boats will)

Although the MX1825 can “handle” big water safely, It does not excel at it.
    I had the mx1825 for 2 years.
    MX’s sure are fast though!

I would advise the WX. IMO I would think that the 1910 would have a better big water ride than even the MX2025.

    after test-driving both, i bought a WX1910.
if i was only fishing rivers and smaller lakes i might have chosen differently, but the WX1910 had clearly superior ride and handling which is important for me on bigger waters.

I don’t know how close you are located to LOW, but I would see if the MTT will be having a tournament soon. They sometimes have Ride and Drives. Better than just sitting in one on the showroom.

The 1825 has more cockpit space.

the Skeeter MX- and WX- are designed with an emphasis on cockpit space. the simple fact that they don’t have rear side tanks is awesome for moving around and getting close to the gunnel while trolling or jigging.

personally, i think it’s a bad idea to try and compare the MX1825 and WX1910. when i put them side-by-side for a water test it was obvious in 2 minutes that they aren’t comparable. very different in size, weight, design, purpose, capabilities, and most of all feel on the water. imho, it’s better to compare each of them independently to match your needs, rather than to each other…

fwiw, i ran out and measured my WX1910:
cockpit: 70″ across (at floor) x 82″ deep (minus space for the step cooler)
    front deck: 72″ across x 65″ deep
rear deck: 75″ across x 27″ deep (minus center cut-out for splashwell)

maybe someone can do the same for the MX1825?
