Has anyone replaced their snap-in cockpit carpet? Mine got soaked during a storm and holds water like a sponge. Two weeks later it was still wet. Weighed about 25 lbs when I finally pulled it out.

Looking for either non-skid mat, rubber decking or other options.

    Thanks.

Snap it out and place it over a saw horse in the sun, it will dry in a few hours.

Placing a fan in the boat helps also.

I have Wave Pro pedestals so taking the seats off isn’t as easy as lifting them up. Need to unscrew the bases or seats themselves. I ended up doing that but haven’t put the carpet back in.

It’s not garage kept otherwise it wouldn’t really be a problem and I could do that. Even after taking the cover off every afternoon for a week it was full of water.

Howard, I had the same situation as you.
Wave Pro pedestals and carpet in the boat.
I took a piece of plywood and slid it under the carpet from the pedestal to the side of the boat, using a straightedge and sharp utility knife I cut a slit in carpet.

I was going to bring the carpet to an upholstery shop and have that seem sewed.
After 2 years there is no fraying and one couldn’t tell its cut unless I pointed it out.

That’s an interesting “fix” to the problem.

I had Wave Pro base also. My carpet had been cut and sewn.
