MX 2025 rigging?

    Hey guys,

I bought a 2013 MX 2025 (new holdover) last fall due in large part to the comments from this board. Thanks for the comments. So far I love it!

I have a few questions on rigging if anyone has feedback I’d appreciate it. I’m mounting an HDS 10 on the bow. Where have folks positioned large screen electronics upfront? Pics would be great!

Also, the dealer I bought from said they were unable to fit the 3 deep cycle batteries and the on board charger in the battery compartment. This left the starting battery and charger in the rear starboard compartment which does allow for the drop in bin. I assume others have it set up differently? Any feedback/pics would be appreciated.

Lastly I’m looking for a rear casting extension if anyone has one they’d part with. I have charcoal carpet.

I’m taking the boat to Lake Guntersville next month. Can’t wait to get some hours on it and catch some big southern LMB.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 1100 series bird mounted on the floor in the bow and used a traxstech track (thru bolted down) and a Cisco mount to slide into the track. This allows me to move it around a little and with it offset to the portside I can still run a trolling mast in the right side of the track when needed.

I have a 4 bank charger in the portside rear compartment so this allows the 3 batteries in the floor and starter in the rear starboard side and both storage bins will fit.

I am pretty sure the rear casting deck extensions can be ordered through a Skeeter dealer. I have seen some of them in the boats coming form Skeeter Boat Center. I’m sure a quick phone call can land you one from them.

For you rear casting deck, go get a piece of 1 x 10 or 1 x 12 and cut it to fit across the supports for you rear casting deck.
Cover it with carpet, fasten down to casting deck supports and your good to go.
If you like, coat the piece of wood with a sealant so that it doesn’t absorb water. It will last longer if you seal it before covering with carpet.

Congratulations Neil. kroger3’s setup is awesome on the front deck. I’ll try and get a picture of mine. I have a touch 9 up there mounted in the same place as kroger3 using a large ram and long arm. Easy to read and point in different directions. I ran the wires up through the floor and through ram’s hockey puck looking base. I think it’s clean and out of the way. I considered a flush mount but passed because I may change electronics at some point and the screen is then in a fixed position and I would then be stuck with one viewing angle.

Here are the pictures of how I rigged my bow graph.
Regarding battery placement-3 group 27 Interstates and the MK 4 bank charger are in the floor. I have a starting battery in the same compartment as yours. Also, I had my dealer add a group 31 tray and an additional lead wire from the alternator so I can run a starting and house battery. Not sure yet if I’ll need a charger for the 5th battery or not. Having the flexibility to pull the rear storage inserts is a great feature of this boat.

Thanks guys great ideas! The track mounting is cool!! I’ve never see that before. I have the F300 and hope that I do not need to add a 5th battery. My understanding is the only motor that needs that are Vrods as they have electronic steering. Yes , I love all the options for rigging is this boat. I’ve owned every Ranger 600 series boat form 690 to 621 and just sold a 21ft Champion bass boat. I’m really excited about the flexibility of this rig from trolling to casting. I also put a 12 ft Talon on for bass!!!

I got a cisco mount on the front. I do like the track idea tho.

Mine is right under the motor.

A gotcha that i just remembered. I had to get longer stainless steel bolts for hummingbird gimbal mount. The bolts supplied with the cisco mount were not long enough to get all the way to the bushing on the lock nut.

Man, the more and more i see that track on the front make me want one.

JR – I assume your referring to flush mounting an HDS-12 on the bow. I haven’t actually measure that area but doubt that an HDS 12 would fit very well there.

Anyone have the dimensions required to flush mount an HDS-12?
I could get some measurements on my 2025 tonight if they do.
