MX 1825 single axle trailer

In my second year with the mx1825. Love the boat but having issues with the trailer. I use smaller ramps on northern wi lakes and seem to have issues with the boat being misaligned on the bunks when landing the boat(off center to one side or the other). It usually requires backing back in a few times and pushing/pulling back of boat to try to align it on the bunks properly(and a bit of cussing also!). I’ve tried to not back the trailer in so deep but then can’t get the boat all the way up onto the trailer with the winch/handle set up I have. I admit that I’m not the most experienced at this (newer boat owner), but should it be this hard? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

One of the first things I did for my MX1825 was replace the stock winch with a 2 speed winch.
I did the same for my last boat, a Ranger 618T, and I would for any bunk trailer.

I also made some guide ons for the trailer. They make loading easier at bad ramps and make it much easier to see the empty trailer for backing up.

I have had the same problem before on certain ramps. What I have found that works is to not back your trailer so far in till you get your boat lined up and then back it in farther.

When this happens, look at how level the trailer is. Easiest way is to compare the water line on each wheel well. I suspect that one side of the trailer is lower than the other. If so move the trailer one way or the other to try find a level spot before loading.

Good advice here. There has to be enough bunk out of the water to cradle the boat to find center. Typically about 2 ft or so of the front bunks out of the water.
Practice a few times noting the amount of bunk sticking out and you should be good to go !

Spray the bunks down with silicone spray as well, makes getting boat off the bunks WAY EASIER, well as driving on.

Another good tip is too dunk the trailer then pull out to the usual loading spot. Helps the boat slide on the bunks. When I had a bunk this is what I did. Silicone is a great idea also

Try power loading instead of winching. Get the water lapping at the top of the wheels. Drive the boat all the way on to the trailer. Connect the winch strap and chain. Drive away.
