Better ask the wife what kind of friend she has? lol You don’t go ad she’ll go on a gambling spree maybe to spite ya. Go along like a good boy and then you can go on a gambling spree….all in Morton right after the gun show.

I attended my last gun show 10 years ago. I couldn’t stop laughing at the prices. Video killed the radio star and the internet killed gunshows. Nothing but a bunch of stool-sitting, gun collectors. You can’t call them “dealers” anymore because they never sell anything.

Well it looks like I’m stuck going. Guess I’ll just have to “bite the bullet”

Well, you never know, I suppose. One thing I will say is a LOT of dealers took on a lot of stock because they were betting on another gun/ammo panic after a Hillary Clinton win. Obviously, that didn’t happen, so I’d say if you see something you like, make a low offer and negotiate up.

Some of these stool sitters are going to be getting desperate to move some inventory because the election’s 3 months in the rearview mirror already, so prices ain’t going back up. Even .22 rimfire ammo’s coming back, so no more price gouging there either. AR parts are a dime a dozen, so no more jackup highway robbery there either.

Not sure what these guys plan to do, maybe some of them are going to try to hold on until the next election, but there have to be some guys that need to move some inventory.

Otherwise, there’s always the interweb. Man are there some deals right now if you’re in a buying mood.

    Grouse,
I know this thread is a couple weeks old but I wanted to make a couple of comments. I set up at 15 to 20 gun shows a year and I have to question some of your assumptions. First off if you haven’t been to a show in ten years what are you baseing your comments on? I talk to hundreds of dealers and haven’t heard anyone mention that they were over stocked due to miss-guessing the election. The internet has affected shows somewhat but they are far from dead. I sold at a show 2 weeks ago and came home with a little over 6 grand after expenses. Your description of dealers seem to show some unwarranted animosity.
