Going to get a tummy full of turkey Thursday night, then head to the farm for one day of bow hunting, then out comes the muzzy. Getting pretty keyed up as we have a ton of does and doe fawns, so the 2nd estrus cycle should be pretty good. Plus having 6-8″ of snow on the ground doesn’t hurt yay

Good luck to all going out for the muzzy season in MN!! chased

I’m getting ready too. Weekend opener is a little busy down here in Zone 3 with the 2nd gun season overlapping… Wish that wasn’t the case but it is what it is.

Good luck and hope everyone is able to smoke some venison waytogo

Good hunting to everyone doing the smoke pole thing. Stay safe! The cold air really makes breathing tough for me so I’ve had to pull away from that season but always enjoyed hunting in the snow.

Good luck to all this weekend with the Muzzy

Going out tomorrow bow hunting and Friday. Hope to fill a tag then and finish up with the Muzzy this weekend.

I got out with my buddy this past Sunday just north of Hugo. I got a pretty decent doe right away and we got her gutted and were getting cleaned up when Don saw a buck. It was tough to tell just how big he was as the rack was kinda camouflaged and was what we later figured out to be about 114 yards away. Don took the shot and it pretty much dropped right there (neck shot). We were both pretty pleased at what we saw when we got to him, a nice chunky eleven pointer!
This was my first time hunting with a muzzle loader and first time deer hunting in over a decade.

The day before we fished Muskies on Bald Eagle, boating and 39 incher and a few pike.

It was one of the funnest sporting weekends I’ve had in a long time, and all within a half hour from home!

That’s a toad right there. Great buck!

A head like that would please most of us. Good job to the shooter.

I was worried Don was gonna overdose on adrenaline!
    Pretty exciting.
