Hey guys, my first question since becoming a member so go easy on me. What do you guys know about a Peifer TS-93. I may have a chance to pick one up and have been trying to find info on the web but it appears to be a pretty rare gun. I know they are out of business now for awhile and parts can be hard to come by. Bell and Carlson stock, Douglas premium stainless double x barrel, drilled and tapped for a scope. If I buy this it will be used, not a souvenir. Any info would be appreciated as I don’t know anyone who’s had one.

Why did you pick such a hard question for your first one. Lol. Never heard of that one.

Good old Tom is still helping on on the muzzleloader questions even from beyond IDO. Because that what Tom does. Here is his reply to this question.

“ The Peifer TS-93 is said to be a magnum gun capable of 150 grain by volume charges using true black or the subs EXCEPT BH209 since the data is generally old. It has an enclosed ignition using the 209 primer. Information on sabot bullet use can be found for bullets up to 350 grains while full bore lead bullets to 460grain should be able to be easily with 80 to 90 volume grains of powder.

At the time of manufacture they were considered to be high quality weapons. The company has been out of business for many years now.

    Here is possible contact info:

I know, I suck! Lol. I’ve been a lurker here for a few years and never really get involved because so many of you guys have such tremendous knowledge. Might as well let the experts answer most of the questions. Plus I actually enjoy doing my own research but you really gotta dig deep to find anything on these guns.

Thanks fishthumper for relaying Tom’s response. I knew he was/is one of the most knowledgeable guys on this forum. Glad he’s still contributing even in a roundabout way.
