Mushroom identification

    Found these growing on dead log. Thought they may be chanterelles but from what I read they don’t grow on dead logs. Found a pile of these.

    Dem are Oysters, a bit past prime but probably still edible if you want to try them.

    Depending on where you’re at, you won’t see chants until July. They’ll be more scattered and growing right out of the ground. They kinda look similar to Oysters, but more yellow-orange in color.

    Golden Oysters. Edible. Many really like them, not my favorite, but not my least favorite either. They tend to take on the flavor of what you cook with them or what you fry them in. I probably have just not cooked them the right way yet. Bacon grease oughta do it!
