As summer rolls on and the weeds continue to thicken fish remain close in them still hungry. Good numbers of nice sized panfish including crappie and sunfish have been found hanging suspended off of deep weeds out to 20 foot of water. Pulling lead core as well as flatline trolling larger size number 9 shad raps have worked along deep weeds. With #5 in lead core situations being the best bait. Best colors still include perch as well as natural colors like black back and Helsinki shad. Look for a solid bluegill bite into August and for walleyes to bite well for those willing to unravel the pattern. Good luck to all getting out. QB
