Hi, I’m looking for a line that I can use for jigging. It would be for multi species from panfish to walleyes but I’m not sure where to start. I want something thats sensitive enough for finicky panfish but strong enough to handle big walleyes. Looking at 6-8# test. Whats your go to line for something like this? Thanks for your advice or tips.

6-8lb braid of your choice will suffice. Suffix, powerpo, fireline, nanofil.

6 lb trilene xl will do the job nicely, I use for both myself

My go to panfish line is 5lb Pline Flouroclear. It also works very well for finesse walleye presentations. With a quality drag that line can handle large fish without issues.

A little tougher to cover panfish to walleyes where you want 4lb test one day and 8lb the next. Two recommendations:

    1) String up with 10-15 pound braid of your choice and tie on a 4-6-8 lb leader depending on how you’re fishing any given day. Most versatile option but you have to buy two lines and learn to tie a line-to-line knot if you don’t know how to already.

    2) Spool up with one all-round line. My bias is towards tougher lines with less stretch and are more manageable than fluorocarbon (assuming you’re using spinning). The lines I’d use would be Yo-Zuri Hybrid 6lb or Sufix Advance Mono also 6lb. Note these are thicker lines and the equivalent to most 8lb mono/fluoro so you could consider going down in test too (4 lb sounds light but is pretty strong line in those brands if I were mostly fishing pannies).

I might go with a 4# diameter line

    Stroft GTM 2X 11.2# test .22 mm line break 10# 4 oz.

3-4# test would handle all those fish in the pic just fine waytogo

I’ve used 8 lb. Stren golden for years for all species that you’ve mentioned with no troubles what so ever. Do yourself a favor and at least try it out, it’s very inexpensive. I have no affiliation with Stren.
