Curious if anyone has tried these ice fishing? I received a pair for Christmas and trying to decide if these will work ok for me. My feet are usually hot anyways, but not sure if I should go to the Arctic sports instead.

I think mine are the Muck Woody Sport Max(?) which has just a little bit more insulation and I end up using mine on the ice all the time. I think eventually I’ll go with Arctic ones but I’m in no hurry since the ones I have are good most of the winter. I wish I could have your problem about having hot feet though.

It’s sucks honestly. Just got done shoveling my driveway in tennis shoes and they are cold and sweaty. I think if I could keep my feet dry, any boot would be ok.

Those are terrible for ice. That about sums it up

I like my Mucks but they just don’t seem as warm as Ice Kings or some of the Baffin boots.

P2-make sure you have socks that wick, or at least one layer that does. I have muck shoes just slipped them on to take out the trash, perfect, but if I wear them for an hour or 2 my feet get sweaty. Like my Baffin boots they get water splashed on them all the time w/o a problem. Once a year late season I might really be in some soupy stuff, I would probably then put some grease on the seams.

OP asked if they would work ok, and that I would say yes to, just ok.

My similar mucks got used for some ice time up to last year until I invested in baffins. They worked, I’d recommend the thermal liner that blocks some cold from below. That’s where the foot would almost always get cold from. Throwing a couple warmers in there also helps.

Be ready to throw some ice cleats on, but with the snow we’ve had already this seasoned may not be too much an issue.

Have fun with them they are a great boot which I’ve used extensively for years now.

Do you know what these boots would compare to in terms of insulation? 800g?

    Have you used these?

Also, I know that they were picked up at 50% off on black friday, so there is no way that I will return them, as they were bought for $80ish. I am going to run these this year and see how they are. If they are not holding up, I think I am going to give alphaburly’s.

Don’t think mine were yak but same concept, they will help some. Don’t expect it to be a totally different boot but its worth the small amount of money IMO.

I would say 800gram is probably pretty close, certainly not in the sole but the rest of foot always stayed warm for me.

They upgraded the bottom traction, thank goodness, mine were terribly smooth from the beginning.

Hey for $80, I am going to give them a shot.
