    Evelyn M. Everts
    Jun 3, 1916 – Dec 15, 2019

Evelyn Mabel Everts, 103, passed away on December 15, 2019, at the Prescott Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Oak Grove Township on June 3, 1916, to Herman and Mathilda (Lindenberger) Malueg. She grew up on a farm with her eight brothers and sisters and attended a one-room country school house in Oak Grove Township. She then met the love of her life, Rolland Everts, and the two were married on January 8, 1940. They started Everts Resort along the Mississippi River in Hager City, Wisconsin. Evelyn loved to bake and play cards, and together she and Rolland loved to travel, fish, boat and camp. She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano, something her family found out about her after she went to the nursing home. Evelyn was a member of the Audubon Society and First Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She is also a member of the Friends of Freedom Park in Prescott, Wisconsin.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marjorie Malueg and nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland; parents, Herman and Mathilda Malueg; sisters, Alice Kuhn, Ethel Nelson, Junita Johnson, and an infant sister; brothers, Chester, Ray, Howard, Herman, and Charles Malueg.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Arthur Sharot officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
Evelyn’s family would like to give a big thank you to all the staff for the good care she received while she was in the Prescott Nursing and Rehab Center. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family at http://www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
