Looking to find someone who can move a 12 x 20 skid fish house. House is south of St. Paul and want it moved up to Mille Lacs.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Call a towing company and they can move it with their roll-back.

Get ahold of some of them guys that build sheds and deliver them. They might be cheaper than a towing company

It’s going to cost you an arm and a leg to have someone do it for you.

Rent a trailer and do it yourself. If for some reason you don’t have a vehicle to haul it, rent one from Home Depot, somewhere else, or borrow one if you can. You should be able to do it for a couple hundred bucks plus gas. I’d have to imagine a towing company is going to be a grand easy, maybe even a couple grand.

Do yourself a favor and leave at 10pm or later. Drive it up late at night or leave very early morning. It’s going to be a lot safer for you and everyone you share the road with to be driving when there’s little to no traffic. Make sure you have it securely fastened to the trailer. Good luck!

    NO, NO, NO Absolutely not!

Unless I’m mistaken, a 12 foot wide load would fall under strict regulations. One can not just up and drive/tow an oversize load. (certain exemptions like ag equipment)
PS. I realize and fully understand, the OP was not asking about doing this himself.

Speeding is also illegal. Hauling it up when no one else is on the road isn’t going to hurt anything. Leave at 3am and take it easy. 169 has wide shoulders. I doubt any cop will pull you over at that time and if they do the ticket will be the same price as a speeding ticket but not hit your insurance since it will probably be an equipment violation, so a non-moving violation.

It’s that or paying a company to do it which I’m sincerely interested in hearing how much that would cost. I’m guessing not cheap. Probably a lot more than renting a trailer and a $130 ticket costs.

It’s an option, but I’m not saying it’s a great option.

Putting cost above safety is NOT a viable option. The regulations are in place to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.

There won’t be anyone on the road if he leaves at 3am.

Well the obvious is getting it from point A to point B should have been figured out before buying it.

Joneser I see a opportunity for you to make some cash. There won’t be anybody on the road except you and the fine for oversize load would likely be less then $130.

Haha! The funny thing is I was actually thinking about messaging him and offering to do it for $750.

I’d have no problem doing it that way if it were my house. That’s what I’d do.

Well, actually that’s not the case. What I would’ve done is build it up there instead of South STP. Well, what I did actually do is convert an old camper that I was able to tow with a car when I picked it up for free. It even had working trailer lights. It was some work getting it gutted and redoing it, but nowhere near the work when it comes to moving it compared to a 20′ x 12′ skid house.
