I’m thinking it would be cool to have a movie reviews section on here. I’ve seen a couple of good movies lately and it would be fun to talk about them!

Billy and I went to see “Logan” yesterday. I’m a HUGE HUGE HUGE X-Men (and Marvel Comics movies) fan and I’ve never actually seen a movie in theatres just two days after opening. But with the assigned seating and roomier chairs in most theatres these days we didn’t really notice that the whole theatre was full. I thought “Logan” was really good and it was wonderful to see Hugh Jackman again as Wolverine (Wolverine is by far my favorite X-Men character), but if you don’t know the story that’s built up from 9 other movies spanning 17 years then it might not mean as much to you.

We also recently saw the New Star Wars movie “Rogue One” and it was really good as well. I have to admit I didn’t realize it was a prequel at first. Then when everyone kept dying off and Vader appeared it started to become obvious. smirk

I was hoping to see “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” in theatres but I haven’t made it yet to see that. I’ll probably just end up buying it and watching at home. Resident Evil is another one of my favorite movie series.

What are some good ones you guys have seen lately?

I thought it was a little disappointing,Far too many of the Stars Wars movies involve destroying the same “Death Star”. doah

    Hacksaw Ridge was really good.

Manchester by the Sea had good acting but overall we thought it was boring. Also, the story line was never wrapped up. The movie just ended.

The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch was good.

I have heard that Hidden Figures and the Lego Batman movies are really good too but I haven’t seen them yet.

It’s actually a really nice system. You select your seats when you buy your ticket and this allows you a guaranteed seat in the movie in the even it’s really busy. This way there’s no possibly of them running out of seats without knowing before hand.

It usually goes hand in hand with big, comfy, leather recliners too. In some places, they will even bring you cold brews.

Watched the documentary, Nos Amis, on the terrorist attack on the Eagles of Death Metal rock show in France. I’m not huge on docs, but this was fantastic. It’s on HBO.

I think this movie did tie up some loose ends though. Specifically, why the Death Star had “a weakness” in the first place. Jyn’s Dad developed that as part of the plans on purpose and kept it a secret. Although since I didn’t know it was a prequel at first, I was kinda like, what? another Death Star…? Didn’t the rebels blow this thing up years ago?

I love movies. Usually see 10-15 a year. Latest one I saw was split. It was different, worth the price, but I wouldn’t go twice. I liked rogue one, so far the new Disney star wars movies have been ok. Next movie might be Kong. Probably overdone, but, it’s a movie.

He’ll or high water is the best movie I’ve seen in year’s.

Manchester by the sea was actually pretty funny at time’s. Spoiler alert, it’s ending was more of a stopping point than an ending. Thought the kid did awesome.

Star Wars was terrible imo and Disney is just cashing checks with that franchise.

    Logan looks good.

Just experienced the “luxury seating” in a movie theater for the first time. Saw John Wick 2. Thought the seating was awesome and I’d say the movie was pretty decent too.

We regrettably watched Manchester By The Sea last night, not sure what the criteria is for Oscar nominations but that was the worst movie I’ve seen in quite some time. The Martian was surprisingly good. We also enjoyed Bridge of Spies. I found Willam Kelly’s War on Amazon I also liked a lot. We get most of our movies free from the local library so we’re a ways down on the waiting list for Hacksaw Ridge, it must be good based on the demand.

I thought Hacksaw Ridge was over rated. Lot of filler and fluff added to another hero story made into melodramatic spectical to pull at ones heart. Been there to many times to be original. I feel fortunate I only had to pay Redbox price with a 2 for 1 code.
    Same goes with Manchester.
I like a good spectacle but it has to be good and not a “insert story here” type thing.
I thought “Hidden Figures” was far better than Hacksaw Ridge.
Can’t wait for Gaurdians of the Gallaxy 2.

Not a movie but I have been sucked into the “Legion” series.

There are few movies I actually can recomend of the top of my head.
Mr.Holmes is one that comes to mind. The acting alone in this film is worth it the twist on a familiar character puts it over the top.
