Mounting without RAM mount

    I have a helix 9 for my council and 7 for bow. I don’t want to spend over $200 in RAM mounts, has anyone installed them with only the gimbal mount included with the unit? I know i will loose some fexibity, but might be worth cost savings. I have a 17′ lund, single concil

    Edit* ignore the picture, I read your question wrong. But yes I have my units installed just using the gimbal. Set them in an orientation that is a good middle ground and you should never have to move them.

    BTW- check EBay for good deals on Ram mounts, especially used ones, they don’t get worn out very fast if at all.
