Mounting down riggers on WX1900

I am considering mounting two down riggers on my WX1900. The logical location seems to be on top of the gunnel at the stern. The port side has an access to the underside of the gunnel which would make mounting a small rail quite easy. The starboard side however does not have an access so putting nuts on bolts from a gunnel mounted rail seems impossible.

If anyone actually mounted riggers on their WX1900, photos would really be appreciated. I am open to different locations or methods of mounting.

Not owning a skeeter, I can’t give you direct information. Off the top of my head, you could add a water tight access under where you want the track mounted. Another good place to get rigging information is SBC. a quick call there would most likely give you the answer.

I bought my WX1850 used and the previous owner had what I would call quick mount brackets or rails mounted in the location you indicate. They mount with four bolts each through the gunnel. I recently removed them and would give you a good deal on them if they would work for you. On my boat there is a round plastic port or plate that screws out to provide access. It matches the ones in the splash well. Mine must have been added for that purpose. These can be purchased aftermarket and added by yourself or a dealer like SBC. If you are interested in the mounts I have send me a PM.
