Just feeling crappy about all the things we can’t control. Between the wild fires in Canada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington,… then Harvey, Irma, and the speculation of more hurricanes, or economy is on the fast track to down the toilet.

Fuel prices are jumping by leaps and bounds. I’m seeing a 80 cent range between local to Wyoming/Colorado. None of my construction proposals are valid. Lumber is going up beyond comprehension. Won’t be long that the costs to do anything will shut us down again. This double whammy is going to hit us hard flame

Mother Nature just doesn’t care about us, never has and never will. I agree it is crazy how all this is happening at once though. Just remember as always, this too shall pass! Keep your head up bud!

It’s almost like someone is playing Sim City with our country. As a kid I would destroy the city with tons of natural disasters at once.

After 2.5-3 straight weeks of -20 temps! Get a good base on the lakes, then let it snow!

Were are having a ton of acorns dropping this fall, and the last two autumns we had very few. I’d bet on a longer and colder winter this year.

I think FBRM means locally it’s been amazing weather. I’d say Mother Nature loves us, but I’d agree she hates most of the country lately.

Flying home from Seattle Sunday at mid day we saw several active fires in the mountains, I think we were over Idaho then. One fire covered several miles along a mountain range. The smoke field was very wide and spread for miles and miles. Smoke was still heavy when we crossed the Missouri River.

Economy is doing just fine. Rising costs that are hurting you has nothing to do with the economy. The weather that is creating unsual demands for materials is what is hurting you.

Yes, it’s the weather that will be affecting the economy. The cost Inreases of recent are only going to get much worse. They will push beyond what many will pay and it will bring a slow down in our area

Randy, I can’t speak to the hurricanes or other states, but in my travels to Montana the last few years I have seen serious devastation of the pine forest due to beetles. The lack of logging allowed and the beetles have created some serious fuel for a fire. This is Ma natures way of correcting that. 1000’s of acres of dead standing pines and that is just from the freeway. In my hikes in the mountains it’s possibly worse. It sucks, but that is about the only way to control the beetles that are killing the pine forests and get new growth of said forests.

Hang in there in just be happy to wake up another day waytogo

It’s all in perspective. I took two trips up to Canada this year and had perfect weather both weeks. The cheap gas and great exchange allowed my 2nd visit. I crossed lake Nipigon 60 miles the lake was so calm on the 2nd trip. 100 years ago anyone living in the mid west wouldn’t of even known about hurricanes in the south or even cared.

Sticker, the same for Colorado. Many sq miles of beetle kill.

I just got an updated lumber quote on a house. Went from $59,712. To $70,460. 18% increase from may to current and lumber yard says it’s going to continue to climb flame

Unfortunately building material prices are going to go up. That was expected with hurricane Harvey devastating the 4th largest city in America. Then Irma hit. It won’t get better for a while. Same with fuel prices. This isn’t a surprise that these things were going to rise. Wife and I had talked about building a new house, that’ll be on hold for a while

Building supply prices have been steadily increasing before the weather situations due to the building explosion we have been experiencing.
The recent storms will make it worse and expect shortages especially with shingles, OSB, and drywall.

You can be that clueless in 2017 too if you want. I’m almost completely disconnected from mainstream media. It’s not all bad, tuning out the rest of the world.

I think the MNDNR is behind these changes too. First Mille Lacs, now major cities along the coasts and forests in the West! Corrupt fools!

    …sorry, I had to

Nothing wrong with a reasonable profit. The gouging is what puts a hurt on all of us
