Looking to install a nice system in the boat, player and 2 speakers.

What kind of power do these things suck? Dead battery issues?

Do you hook up to starter or TM batteries? If the TM, what kind of wiring diagram to go from 24v to radio? Is it not feasible to just hook up an ice battery and how long would that last? I’d rather have 2-3 of those things around for a weekend than loading the boat with another battery.

Where has been the best place to mount speakers? Not opposed to tower speakers, will have full windshield.

Any other thoughts? Really glad that radio thread for Skeeter came up, great idea I really didn’t think of and would really get the family into it more I think.

Now Hamm, you know better than to connect it to your TM battery! Don’t you?
Head it to the big motor battery, for sure. other than that I’m listening,,,,,

I’m not a numbers guy with amps volts being drawn and all that jazz so curious how a good 2 speaker system would draw on a starter battery all day? Doesn’t sound ideal?

Why wouldn’t a nice lithium ice battery work in this scenario? Small compact size could fit in the glove box, have enough juice for all day? Would be darned easy to wire as well grin

I run a 600 watt amp to 4 speakers plus a 150 watt amp to a 10 inch woofer. All off a group 29 starting battery. Never had any battery issues and the tunes are always on in my boat. mrgreen

I have over 500 watts of sound in my side-by-side with the factory small battery. I have cranked it for hours back at camp while sitting around a fire and it starts right up after. The setup in my boat is half that size and I have never even thought about it being an issue. Crank away!

We spend entire days on the pontoon with music playing and never had an issue starting the motor.
    Keep it simple.

Any go to brands? Like to keep the system around $300. $150 for player, $150 for pair of speakers. I’ll let you guys have the subs peace

Wheres the best place to go around town for in stock? Gazillion options online, rather pickup right away.

Andy, its awaiting pickup on a lake up north tomorrow morning. Shitting bricks waiting bc couple transactions have gone bad thus far with others.

Clarion on the player/amp. JBL on the speakers.

Best deals anywhere are on Amazon.

If you need something off the shelf, you will be stuck with whatever is in stock at Cabelas or Gander.
