I just moved to the St Louis area. Anyone have any info on good fishing opportunities in this area? I move here from MN.

I have a friend who lives in/near St. Louis. He spends most of his time on Mark Twain Lake northwest of town.

There are 2 lakes that are good close to Mark Twain. Thomas Hill is a power plant lake ,it is spotty for largemouth but has a good population of stripers .Bass fishing goes in cycles there. It is on the rebound now. Long Branch is another lake and it has a rep for producing big bass. Mark Twain is a good bass lake but it gets pounded by tournies. It is good early in the year and gets tougher thru August .It can be real tough if they are not pulling water.Twain is an excellent crappie lake for size and numbers . And Long Branch has a hot walleye bite in late winter on Rouges and other stick baits. I dont know for sure but Lake of the Ozarks might be as close as the Mark Twain area to you. Lots of good fishing on small lake also . Good luck!
