Modification on Smokercraft boats

    i have a 13 ft alaskan smokercraft and want to know if i can take out the center bench seat and half of the rear bench seat , i need more room and can’t afford a larger boat at the moment

    Structural no, and buoyancy, I would start off with reorganizing. Looks like wasted space to me.

    Yes you can take out the middle bench. I did it on mine

    That bench is structural but you could take it out.

    I had an old Lund that I took the center section of that middle bench. You can make it a walk through and then make the 2 side pieces into little storage compartments. Keeps the structural integrity when you tie the 2 outside sections into the floor.

    I don’t have a pic but basically cut out the center where you have the basket sitting.

    Yes you can take out the middle bench. I did it on mine

    We also did it, 2 boats. One goes to Canada every year on a rack and gets bounced around hard. Still no leaks and floats and doesn’t look too out of shape lol.

    One completely removed, the other cut partially out the middle section but left 2 smaller side sections which were made into storage.
