Opening day! Let’s see the photos and hear the stories? Or is everyone busy eating their trout dinners?

I was busy with yard work however will be fishing western WI tomorrow from 7-10am. Cannot keep fish however I’m excited to try a new spot.

We fished sunday, managed 7 browns that were small and 2 chubs. High sun they were spooked easily. They were hitting gold bladed 1/32 panthers. We tried silver also but they didnt seem to chase them as much. All out of one stream. Whats the deal with the trout fishing map from the DNR? We went to a few spots that were designated as fishing easments or public land and they were posted. We went anyways but I always hate to worry about it while were fishing. This particular stream the DNR has put steel beams and rocks on deep outside bends they dont do this on private land do they? No pictures they were too small for photo shoots. A great day to be out though!

Easement should be colored grey on the trout maps. Now that means you get 33 feet from the center of the stream on both sides I believe. No more, no less. So technically you cannot say cut through a Farmer’s field stomping through his crops etc. Send me a PM if you want to name the stream in private. I can tell you if it has had habitat improvement or not.
