The hoppers are starting to really get going on area trout streams. This guy took a dropper from a hopper pattern at mid-day today.
Streams are very low and clear. We desperately need some rain.

What a beautiful fish those brookies are… nice catch! Are they hitting the hoppers on top as well? What was on the dropper that took the fish? Chuckles
The hoppers are a good fly right now in meadow reaches; I caught several fish on them, but not as pretty as that guy. The dropper today was the Black Wet Fly, a local pattern that looks like a sunken beetle – it’s a ridiculously good pattern.
