I got a chance to get out for a few hours before I leave out of town for a while. I fished in the Whitewater area this AM from 6:30-11:00. The rains came rolling in around 8:00, so it wasn’t a good day to leave the rain jacket at home. The fishing, however, was very good. I caught rainbows, browns, and brookies out of the two branches that I fished. I started with nymphs to not much success and switched over to small olive and black buggers and did very well. The water is off color in some areas of the WW, but it should be relatively clean by the weekend (get out your beetles and ants). I landed several notable fish including several brook trout in the 10-11 inch range and one chunky brown in the 16 inch class. Saw no other anglers, so that was a plus as well. Good luck to all this weekend….tricos and hoppers aren’t far away.
I had trouble posting my photos under the fishing reports section, but you can see them at http://www.ontheflyguiding.com under Today’s Photos
