I got out and fished one last time before the snow flies and the mayhem starts on Saturday. It was a pretty ho-hum day until the Dark Hendricksons started.
I nymphed most of the day (a day when the almighty scud was basically worthless) and most of the fish were deep and would pick off a #16 PT or something like a PT emerger.
Once the hatch started, things changed dramatically. Fish started to appear all over. I fished about three-four different dries. A CDC dry (that I quickly got rid of once it was apparent that fish were going to drown that thing), a pink post DH dry, a regular DH dry, and a #16 Adams tied in dun. The last fly picked up a pair of 15″, a “17, and one of a similar nature who decided to bolt the pool once he got hooked up and snapped 6X easily.
Not much else to report. The water levels are good. They are definitely clean as well.
