Trout Report

This is a little late, but had a good day of fishing last Friday the 23. I was out on Rush Creek between Lewiston and Rushford. Water was very clear. I was using #14 & #16 bead head hares ears with a 6′-6″ 2wt rod I built last year with the help of a colleague. That rod is a blast you can feel every twitch of the fish in the butt of the rod, I love it. Caught a lot of fish. Ranged from the occasional 6″, but most would of been in the 10-14″. Did land 3-4 in the 16″-18″ range. I was on the stream Mid-day for only about 3hrs and the trout were differently active.

sounds like fun, i’ve fished the root a few times

2 weights are a gas to fish. I have an 8′ 2 weight that is one of my favorite rods to fish.
