I had “one of those days” while attempting to fish the MBWW starting at the Lazy D Campground and going to where McCarthy,s bridge used to be. Well, here is what happend. I put on a bead head pt and trailed it with a nymph midge. The third cast I hung it in a tree. I had tied the rig at home and then found out to my surprise that I did not have my reading glasses with me. I spent about 10 minutes tying a tippet on my leader and then a hares ear. I fished one area to no avail and then went to the next area where pulled the tippet off trying to snake my line through the end eye. I said a few choice words, took a deep breath, said the “Serenity Prayer” and then proceeded to scout the stream. I found that stretch to have changed a lot (not for the better)! There must have been on heck of a run off and that means the “reds” got washed away again. The DNR might as well start stocking the middle and north br. of WW as there are not many fish in those streams starting three years ago! Just my two cents worth. I forgot to say that this outing was on Friday the 5th of Jan.
