Fished Hay Creek last weekend. Had some success. Then the crowds showed up.
Did anyone else get out to southern Minnesota? If so how did you do.

Wisconsin opener only a mounth and change away.

    Ben,
Is hay creek still producing mainly dinky browns?
It is a fun stream in the winter, due to the close proximity and lack of people. If the crowds showed up though, it would loose its appeal real quick!
I have not gooten out yet this winter .
If I have the time, I usually go much deeper south and east!
Some other closer stuff that can be fun though include the cannon and zumbro rivers.
What are your normal streams of choice?
    cheers

I like to fish the Rush River in Wis. It’s close and the fish are much bigger, unlike those little ones in Hay Creek.
I also enjoy getting up to The North Shore. Brook trout are small, but you can get away from some of the crowds. If you don’t mind the hike(and i don’t).

    See you the river.

I’m pretty jealous! Somewhere around 47 days to wait yet. With the weather the way it’s been, it just feels like early trout season! Thank God for trib fishing here!

    Catch one for me guys!

I caught both last year in southeast Minnesota.

Here’s one of my client’s brookies:
