I haven’t done much reporting here as of late, but then again, I haven’t really been out much this entire month when all of a sudden, it’s over (today is the last day to fish for trout in southeast Minnesota).
I did get a “hall pass” from my wife todya and headed out for a few hours in fillmore Co. The Root was up, but it was fishable. All of the feeders that were running into it, that were once backed up earlier in the week, are now running well. They were a bit off yesterday, but I have no doubt that they will be even better today for the last day.
There were some BWO’s around, but due to clarity issues, nothing was on top. Basic scuds with either PT, red brassie, or soft hackles worked fins as the trail fly. Action wasn’t great or poor, but just enough to keep me interested and all told I probably landed a solid 20 fish before I tore down my road and called it a season.
Hopefully when I get a moment to really put it together, I will put together a picture gallery of the last few months of angling.
Best of luck to those who get out today, and a huge thanks to those who posted on this forum and helped share information this year.
Take care,
D.A.
