I am heading up to Fillmore County for a few days this week, and was wondering what the water is like on the trout streams, especially the South Branch of the Root? It sounds like you’ve had a fair bit of rain up there.

It rained all day last Thursday, but hadn’t before then and none since then .

Streams shouldn’t be any higher than normal, if not still a bit low.

The root in Preston is looking good.

I was in that area yesterday – jeffleek’s still correct after some weird rain patterns went through. The SBRR and area streams within close proximity to Preston are in very fishable shape, while streams north of Preston into the St. Charles area got hit on Friday night with some pretty significant rain totals. Interestingly, we didn;t get a drop in Rochester on Friday night .

    Take care,
