I hit Fillmore Co. for about four hours today. I literally melted this AM after hiking through some areas with no trails for a quarter mile . However, there were some decent fish the further away from the access I got (which shouldn’t be a real shocker). Stuck with the basic ice dub scud in more or an orange with a pearlescent k. flash tail due to some clarity issues with a BWF trailer. Pulled the triple play: browns, two rainbow fingerlings, and a brook trout .
Hit the second stream around 10:00 and fished until noon. You could almost feel the water temperature getting warmer the longer you fished. This stream was a bit dirtier than the first, but I still stuck with the same combo as the first stop. I fooled a few chunky 14″ browns, which were an absolute gas with my little 2 weight rod.
No hatches to speak of.
Water clarity is a bit murkier south of I90 than north of I90 at thepresent. That could all very well change in the next day as some rainfall is predicted to hit the area.
Best of luck and have a good weekend.
Regards,
D.A.
