Vermillion River/Creek

I have been told that the stretch of this river around Farmington is designated as a trout stream. I contacted the DNR, they said that they do stock it every spring, but also warned me that the land around the stream is private property with the possibility of trespassing charges.
My Question is:
Is this area worth my time as a novice trout fisherman??

YES

But you will need to ask permission from some farmers.
It holds a lot of nice browns, so if you are willing to pound on some doors it is a great stream.
