I just picked up a fantastic book at B. Dalton called “Flyfishers Guide to Minnesota” by Mickey O. Johnson. This is fantastic – – mainly because it does not instruct too much about fly fishing but, more because it describes in great detail how to access and where fishing is best for all species – – lakes, streams and rivers all over the state. Check it out!

Speaking of access points, the DNR is working on putting out a new easement map. It’s a combination of the old fold out mape (two sided) and the easement guide. It will basically be a combination of both and will also be of a fold out variety complete with road maps, easments, habitat improvement areas, etc.

    Should be out this spring.

Can’t wait to see the new map book. I’m tired of switching back and forth between the gazeteer and the color pamphlet.
