This sunday I will be going S.E. part of state. Where am I better off right now, the Whitewater are watershed, or the root river area by Lanesboro? Where specifically is in good shape barring a lot of rain?
The Whitewater is in good shape! I educated a few yesterday. I’m all hook and release so I can have more fun catching them next year! Good luck wherever you go! 
As a guide and general fly fishing geek, I travel quite a bit. Both the WW are and the Lanesboro areas are very fishable. The WW was very clear (SBWW) on Tuesday with the NBWW and Middle BWW being also very clean.
The Lanesboro area is also in good shape. I was ona few streams Sunday not far from L. that were very clean and were very productive. I cannot speak for the Root in the area of Lanesboro itself as I do not actually frequent that area much this time of year.
