S. Branch Root River

    Just wondering if anybody knows how the Root is flowing right now. Is it muddy or high? Is the section near Lanesboro full of intertubers? I haven’t fished the Root for about a month and when I did it was high and muddy. The only trout I caught came on panther martins fished close to the flooded grass. If anybody has been fishing S. branch root or just driving by let me know how it looks. Thanks

    The Root looks good – for both fly and spinner types. I was in the Preston area today and fished a stream in the area. Scuds with the Balck Wet Fly trailer was great. Saw one other angler the whole day, but there were quite a few on my drive from Preston to Forrestville.
