I am going down to SE Minnesota next weekend (6-12) with my Grandpa to do some flyfishing. I need some help on choosing which stream to go to. I want to go to a decent sized steam that you can actually cast on without getting snagged on trees. And the stream can’t be super fast or very deep because my grandpa is coming with. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction! Please help!!!

Hi, I can get in touch with you. I am 65 and have fished the White Water streams from ’44 to now. Take your grandpa to the South Branch of the Whitewater. Go out of Elba to Altura and turn right at the turkey factory. This will bring you to the steam. Turn left and go to K meakows. There is a turnstile there going over the fence to a camping ground that has trailors. It is very neat. Over the turnstile go right to the stream and fish upstream from there. Sounds too good to be true but for what you want it will be just right and there are a lot of trout in that area. I know as I have released a lot of them in the past 5 years!! I hope you have fun and it could be good. Other than that area the fishing could be hard for your grandpa. Good luck and thank you for taking your grandpa fishing! JJ
