who is all going out to fish and where are you going? i’ll be up in northern minnesoata. it will be my first time fly fishing, but i have used ultralight spinning gear the past few years, any pointers on what flys i should use?
Sorry…As for the opener it is usually a day I avoid like the plague. I just have to ask the question…With new fly fishing gear, Why didn’t you take that gear out and fish during the Catch and Release season?

there is no catch and release season up here besides the north shore. i think it is a continuous season there for brown and rainbows. up here on the iron range it is just april 17 – sept 30. so thats why i havent got out yet, and i just got my gear on easter weekend and the past couple weeks i have been learning to cast and stuff.
