KMSP Satellite truck is currently parked down at the Jordan landing. I’m getting ready to head to Home Depot to buy my materials for my ark.

Send the news crew when the water is lapping at my doorstep, high water is not a news story it happens every year.

I got a right mind to head down there and launch my boat during their live feed

Stick a couple of big barrels in your yard, close side on the lower part of the slope. Cut some small holes in the bottom to let the water drain as it subsides. Then you can try some SAFE noodling.

It is pretty cool seeing the ice sheets when they hit islands and bridge pillars. I watched that one year when huge sheets were coming down the river and hitting the point of an island. It makes a cool sound.

I was watching the news last night and there are some serious ice flows out there. They showed carver by the trestle bridge and it was nothing but ice chunks and logs more than a foot deep flowing.

Its going to be a mess downstream from the confluence when the bulk of that ice hits the Mississippi… The boating version of asteriods

Don’t forget to put rod holders on the Ark.

You can already see a bunch of the stuff in the Mississippi when you cross over the 494 bridge.

I crossed the river on 7th (5?) on my way downtown yesterday. The water looks up which I hope holds out. I don’t want the river over it’s banks, but I do want some more normal levels and a normal water flow.

All I can say is that it is spring, let it flood! Growing up on the Red Lake River and being near the big Red, this happened every year. Some years way worse than others. When it drops though, she drops fast!

I would much rather have high, high water levels now when there is no fishing to be had, than in the middle of June when the flats are going nuts.

Besides, all that debris in the water is going to find some place to pile up when it goes down, and that means new fishing spots!
